CBD business routine – From Signature CBD Co-Founder
Let’s be honest, although we’ve probably all had experience of working from home, it’s a hard trick to master. How many “motivational memes” have you seen about establishing a routine? What does that actually look like? I’m sure many of you are struggling so I thought I’d share what CBD Business Routine looks like! A day in the life at Signature CBD.
Master your morning
Working from home, it’s a bit marmite. Some people swear by it, some people … not so much. But we need to adapt quickly, and you must do whatever it takes as a business owner or an employee.
Establish your routine: write it down, memorise it, implement it.
Starting with the morning – 6:30am. Always start with a bit of fresh air. I wake up and go for a walk / run straight away. I put on an audiobook and aim to do at least 5 kilometres. The morning air and motivational book will wake you up and instigate ideas and goals for the day. As soon as I get home, I write down my goals and ideas. I have a delicious, strong coffee with 3 drops of CBD. I’m now feeling ready for the day.
8:30am – 9:00: My business partner and I schedule a 15min – 30min call to discuss strategy for the day. We normally do this every day and have constant communication throughout the day on what’s app, emails etc. Might be an overkill but we like to keep each other motivated. We are normally very much in sync with mindset, but we are not machines and sometimes we need to spur each other on. Communication when working from home is hard but you can see here some tips and advice to manage your teams.
9:00 – 11:00: Like in any industry, everything is built through relationships. We don’t like to use the word “sales” because we see our business partnerships as … well partnerships! We are working together to provide effective CBD to the consumers. We love our product and want to share it with the world so that means building relationships with online stores, retailers, gyms and dropshippers!
The dreaded emails!
11:00- 12: Running a business is tough and you can sometimes be drowned in operations or as I like to call it “putting out fires.” No matter who you are and no matter what business you are running, you are going to have problems and things that go wrong. And the problems (unless REALLY serious) come in the form of an email. So, allocate yourself some time to go through and put those fires out! Guess that’s part of running a CBD business.
Lunch = new skills
13:00 – 14:00: It almost feels that Lunch just blends into the working day now. I would normally train at Lunch for 1 hour, but I can’t get into it at home! So, I’ve allocated 1 hour at lunch to learn a new skill / practice current. I have been learning Spanish for 2 years so this will be a chance for me to get ahead! What skill could you learn enhance your business? Maybe it’s time to sign up for that online sales course!
Content / Check in with the team and third parties
14:00 -16:00: I like to use this time to create content. I feel after my afternoon coffee I can get a bit creative. I like to write blogs and find out ways I can improve my company’s SEO. As a new online entrepreneur, I quickly found out how important SEO is for a company (I did always wonder why I had 10-15 messages a day about SEO on Linkedin).
I like to check in with the team, see how they are getting on with their day to day, how sales are going and how new projects are coming along. There’s normally a fire to put out somewhere!
Healthy Body = healthy mind
16:00 – 17:30: GYM (at home). I love to do my weight training at this time, everyone is calming down for the day and it gives me a chance to get a good workout in. It also energises me for the evening. I’ll train and get ready for the night shift.
The gift of the night owl
18:00 onwards: Many motivational videos of the famous entrepreneurs of this world will tell you – get up at 4:30am. My business partner is the opposite, he’s a night owl and is most effective in the late/early hours. I normally expect a message around 1:00am of his next vision. He’s a true visionary / ideas man and these normally come in the evening. He thinks of ideas for our CBD business and businesses for the future as well! So, we could be doing any of the above routine throughout our evening. I do try to squeeze at least 1hr of wind-down time on Netflix though.
I hope you enjoyed my CBD Business Routine but it all means nothing without action. It’s important to give it your all. Trust me, I’m the master of procrastination (mainly because I love a chat!) but you have to be very disciplined. Time is our greatest asset and it’s so easy to waste. Work hard, enjoy the game, and most of all be grateful for the opportunities given to you.
